Lowery: "Nice To Finish With The Best Home Record In The League"

25 April 2019

Tommy targets 15th home win of the season but he knows we have a game on against Forest Green, who have one of the best away records.

Crewe Alexandra midfielder Tom Lowery wants the team to end the season with an impressive return of 15 home wins and give us the chance of ending the campaign with one of the best home records in the division.

Currently, Crewe share their honour with Mansfield and Tranmere who both have 14 home wins as well.

Standing in our way our promotion hopefulls forest Green, who share the accolade of the best team on the road this season with table toppers Lincoln City. Forest Green have won 12 away games this season.

Lowery, who provided both assists for Chris Porter’s brace at Swindon on Monday after scoring his first senior goal in 62 appearances against Yeovil on Friday, says that it would be good to end on 15 wins but that our away form has let us down in the pursuit of a play-off place.

Ahead our final home game against Forest Green, the Holmes Chapel based youngster said: “We have shown what we are capable of this season and we feel that we could have made the play-offs but we haven’t.

“That has to be the aim for next season and we know that our away form has to be better. We have had 14 home wins, which is very good. It would be nice to end with another one against Forest Green.

“We have always said that our home form would be key to us, but we have not picked up enough points away from home. We have to take our home from into next season and improve on our away form and then we could be in a much better position.”
