More Goals To Come From Ainley & Kirk

2 April 2019

David Artell believes that some of his young players have to continue to progress next season and add even more goals to their games. The likes of Charlie Kirk and Callum Ainley have already registered their personal bests for goals in a season - but Artell feels that there is still even more to come from them in terms of finding the back of the net.

The Alex boss also believes that it is a ‘travesty’ that Perry Ng and Harry Pickering have yet to find the net this season.

David told the club’s official website: “Callum and Charlie have scored goals and provided a number of assists but there is still more to come from them. Callum has six goals this season but his next step is to score 10, 12 in a season. He could still reach double figures this season with a little run.

“Charlie has added goals to his game and he needs to kick on and get to 12 and then 15 goals in a season which would be a fantastic return for a wide player.

“They have both got time on their side but they know they can take more responsibility when it comes to scoring goals. They have helped out the main strikers in the team this season but there is still more to come.

The boss added: “All the midfield could help by chipping in with a few goals and it is nothing short of a travesty that Perry and Harry have not scored this season. If they can get four or five a season then that would certainly help as well. “
