Miller Enhances His Chances Of A Recall With Good Display For The Under-23s

9 April 2019

One player who has enhanced his chances of earning a recall to David Artell’s starting XI is striker Shaun Miller. Miller was introduced as a late substitute against Port Vale on Saturday but he followed up that brief performance with the winning goal for the club’s Under-23s against Coventry City yesterday afternoon.

Miller scored the only goal of the game to keep our outside chance of the Under-23 play-offs alive.

Watching boss David Artell was pleased with Miller’s goal and all round contribution in the game played at Gresty Road.

The boss told crewealex.net: “I spoke to Shaun yesterday and told him it was much more like him. I said it is more like you and he just didn’t get on the end of the chance for his goal, he was involved in the initial build up and got himself in the penalty area.

“He had a really good game and it was a good game. Coventry had a number of first team players out and it was a really good football match in the sun.

The boss added: “Shaun was very good yesterday and we know he is a good player. He just has to show it more often than he has done this season.”
