Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has hailed Perry Ng as the ‘best right-back in the division’ and says that his future lies at least at Championship level. Ng has certainly been one of the club’s most consistent performers this season and he is sure to be a major contender for the Player of the Season award at the end of the campaign.
Ng, 22, has played in various positions during his time in the first team but has played most of his football this season at right-back.
Artell told crewealex.net: “Perry is still relatively young but you also have to remember that he came into the first team relatively late as well. It was late compared to some of the others.
“I think he will go on and have a great career. I see his future in the Championship at the very least. He is the best right-back in the division and we all know he is a terrific player.
“He can play centre-half as well but he has some work to do there. He needs to become a really dominant centre half and use that aggression that he has more.
“He has the ability to come inside from right-back and when he plays in the middle or in midfield, he has great ability on the ball and is confident enough to come out with it. He has all the assets you need to have a great career in the game.
He added: “I am not acting as a PR or marketing guy when it comes to Pez because I think everyone has seen for themselves over the last two seasons, the player he has become.”
