Winning Has To Become The Habit

6 September 2018

Following the club’s first away win of the new season at Prenton Park, the Crewe Alexandra manager, David Artell, says it is important that we build on it away at Cheltenham on 15th September.

Crewe are without a league fixture this weekend due to Mansfield having three of their players away on International duty.

That allowed Artell to name a strong side for the trip to Tranmere in the Checkatrade Trophy and his players rose to the occasion to fight back from 3-1 to win the tie late on thanks to a winner from James Jones.

Artell is striving for his Crewe team to develop that winning habit again after finally getting that win on the road.

David told crewealex.net: “The players showed great character to come back. They deserve all the plaudits because they managed to keep themselves going.

“Winning is a habit much in the same way losing it. Once you become serial winners, it is very hard to stop.

“We now have back-to-back wins after Macclesfield and Tranmere and it is important to carry that on at Cheltenham in our next game.”
