David Artell has reiterated that his selections are made on merit and form.
The Alex boss made some big calls on his starting line-up at Cheltenham Town on Saturday with the likes of Chris Porter and Shaun Miller missing out but Artell says that it remains a nice problem to have.
Talking following the goalless draw at Cheltenham, Artell said: “There are certainly no favourites, selection is made on form. I’ve said since the day I took over that if a player does the business in training and for the Under-23s then they get an opportunity here.
“That has not changed. The players are picked on merit. There is not one partnership or one particular player that is guaranteed to play.
“If they train properly and play well then they will get their chances, it is as simple as that.”
