Defender Eddie Nolan has joined the club’s injury list after aggravating his calf in the 3-0 home win over Macclesfield Town. Nolan landed awkwardly on his ankle and felt a twinge in the muscle leading to his withdrawal for Nicky Hunt after just 19 minutes.
David Artell has revealed that the versatile Irishman will miss our mid-week to trip to Prenton Park to face Tranmere Rovers in the Checkatrade Trophy and the club are hoping that the injury will not keep him for too long.
Artell told the club’s official website: “It was another game, another injury for us. Eddie landed awkwardly and felt something. He had to come off and he certainly won’t be involved tomorrow night.
“We will have to see how he is a week on Saturday but we are now taking a book in the office to see who the next one is to get a knock.
“We have had our fair share of injuries already but thankfully they have occurred before the loan window closed and we have managed to get two more in.”
