David Artell says that Jordan Bowery showed with his two goals and all round performance against Macclesfield Town just what he is about.
Bowery scored two fantastic headers to help Crewe Alexandra get back to winning ways with a fairly comfortable 3-0 win over our Cheshire neighbours.
The Crewe boss was understandably delighted with the former Aston Villa forward’s contribution.
“Jordan showed on Saturday what he is all about, ‘said David. “I had a chat with Mark (Yates, the Macclesfield Town manager) after the game and he was waxing lyrical about Jordan and how he had played.
“When you have opposition managers telling you that then you know he has been doing something right. Mark was spot on.
“Jordan was terrific and I think he only lost one or two of his headers all afternoon. He led the line superbly well and his all-round performance was fantastic. He scored two great headers and had another two shots saved by the feet of their goalkeeper.
The boss added: “If you are talking about the stand out player then it was Jordan. Not just for his two goals but his all-round game. His real willingness to chase the ball down and ability in both boxes. He showed everyone what he is capable of and he is set a marker.”
