David Artell believes that lessons have certainly been learned from our thrilling 4-3 win over Tranmere Rovers in our last fixture.
Crewe Alexandra had to do it the hard way, fighting back from 3-1 to win at Prenton Park for the first time in 18 years.
Artell says that the characteristic of remaining in matches is a good habit to have as we attempt to record our first away win of the season in the league at Cheltenham this weekend.
Artell told crewealex.net: “A big part of it is remaining in games. You have to stick in there and apart from the Colchester game we have managed to do that. I think we have been in every game and have deserved more than we have got.
“If you can remain in the game and work things out then you always have a chance of getting back into it.
“We managed to do that at Tranmere. They were good value for their 3-1 lead after an hour or so, but we got ourselves back in the game. We hung in there, got a goal back and it changed the whole complexion of the game.
“The trick is of course not to give yourself a mountain to climb in the first place but if you can stick in, then you have a chance. That is the lesson we have to take from the Tranmere game. The comeback proved we can come from behind to win and it hasn’t happened a lot.”
