Artell: "Always A Tough Night At Prenton Park"

4 September 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says he has fond memories of playing at Prenton Park - but he admits that it is always a tough, physical battle.

Artell remembers playing reserve games for Rotherham against Tranmere as a young professional and he says that it was a great experience in his quest to break into the first-team.

Artell recalls: “I always liked playing at Prenton Park. I remember playing there at 16, 17, 18 in reserve games and thinking it was tough. It was a great experience and it was usually a hard night.

“I’ve always enjoyed going to Tranmere. It is a nice ground, a nice pitch and they have good, knowledgeable fans. I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, but it has always struck me as a well-run club. They are just usually horrible to play against!”
