Boss: "We Will Be Better Equipped to Play On Tighter Pitches"

18 September 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has told the club’s official website that his team would have learned a valuable lesson from the goalless draw at Cheltenham Town.

Artell has gone through the video of the performance and told of the importance of keeping the ball on tighter pitch.

Crewe created some good chances in the game but couldn’t quite find that goal that would have given us our first away win of the season in League Two.

David told the club’s official website: “We have gone through the video with the players and explained the need to be better in possession, especially on a tight pitch like Cheltenham’s. We have got to be better in possession and they know that.

“We have got to better in the final third and in and around their box. We don’t have to try and force it as much as we did at times at Cheltenham.

“It is all about learning and improving and they will take things on board when we visit places like Cambridge and Yeovil, who have tighter pitches. “
