U18 Report & Goals: Crewe 3-1 Colchester

4 October 2018

Crewe Alexandra Under 18s recorded a thoroughly deserved 3-1 victory over Colchester United at Reaseheath.

Lee Bell's side picked up their second win of the season thanks to goals from Matty Fenton, Rio Adebisi & Malachi Linton before a late Us consolation.

Oozing confidence after last week's performance & last gasp goal to salvage a point against Sheffield Wednesday, the Alex took to task against the Us.

Fenton headed the first goal of the game on the half hour mark, glancing Joe Robbins' free-kick into the far corner.

The second arrived within 30 seconds after the half-time interval. Adebisi pounced on the loose ball to tap home from close range after the Us goalkeeper couldn't hold Tyreece Onyeka's low shot from the edge of the area.

Continuing to dominate, The Alex made it three on the hour mark - the in-form Linton thrashing high into the net from close range after Onyeka's header was blocked from another Robbins free-kick.

The visitors did get on the score-sheet however from a direct free-kick from 20-yards - the Us player going round the ball & beating Sam Booth with the shot into the corner.

Next up for the Under 18s is a trip to Barnsley on Saturday.
