Preview: Alex Aim For Back-To-Back Away Wins At Yeovil

23 October 2018

Crewe Alexandra make the long midweek trip to Yeovil buoyed by a first three points on the road at Stevenage on Saturday.

That result that at the weekend ended a run of one point & one goal away from home in the 2018/19 season.

Yeovil's last victory came in mid-September when they thrashed Newport County 6-0 in Rodney Parade - they haven't won a game in six attempts since.

Crewe may edge the recent form, but there's no doubt that the Glovers dominate the form in recent meeting between the two sides.

Yeovil are unbeaten in the last four meetings between the sides - keeping four clean sheets.

Crewe's last victory over Yeovil was in February 2015, 1-0 at Gresty Road, with the last win at Huish Park coming in April 2008.

Overall, Yeovil have won five of the last ten meetings, Crewe winning two & three ending all square - The Alex have scored just one goal in the last four visits to Huish Park combined.

Records are made for breaking & history is history!

Date: Tuesday 23 October 2018

Competition: Sky Bet League Two

Venue: Huish Park

Previous Meeting At Host Club: Yeovil 2-0 Crewe ()

Referee: Kevin Johnson (P14, 14Y, 1R)

Crewe: Saturday's match-winner Jordan Bowery was taken off off not long after scoring against Stevenage with a hamstring problem & the striker is rated as 50/50 ahead of the trip to Yeovil.

Paul Green continues to be absent, as is Eddie Nolan - but the latter is set to step up his comeback with minutes for the Under 23s on Wednesday.

Spirit is high in the Alex camp after victory on the road for the first time at Stevenage, & Crewe head to Yeovil looking to arrest a poor run of results in the South-West.

Yeovil Town: Sessi D'Almeida returns from suspension for the Glovers, having missed the 0-0 draw with Tranmere on Saturday.

They continue to be without Francois Zoko, James Bailey, Omar Showumni and Diallang Jaiyesimi however, with a question mark over the fitness of Wes McDonald.

The Glovers will be looking to add to their fine form against Crewe, and continue their decent form, unbeaten at home in three games.
