Harry Pickering could play some part in the club’s Under-23 fixture against Burnley later today. The Academy graduate will be ahead of schedule after missing the last seven matches with a hamstring tear. Pickering, who had been one of the club’s most consistent performers suffered the injury late on in our defeat to Burnley.
The 19-year-old has recently returned to non-contact training and is fit enough to play some minutes for Alex Morris’ side today. It would be a welcome boost for manager David Artell because of Pickering’s ability to play in various positions in defence and midfield.
Assistant manager Kenny Lunt told the club’s official website that although there are a few stiff muscles following the Notts County game on Saturday, there are no injury concerns ahead of our mid-week fixture against Swindon Town.
