Crewe Alexandra will be without defender Corey Whelan at the weekend as he is away on international duty with Republic Of Ireland Under-21s. Eire have two fixtures coming up against Israel and then Germany and that means the Railwaymen will be without the on-loan Liverpool defender at the weekend.
David Artell, the Crewe Alexandra manager, says that as one door closes, another one opens for somebody else.
Artell told the club’s official website: “Corey is away on International duty this week so as one door closes, another one opens for someone else. We have a few options to go with.
“It is an enforced change but that tends to happen quite often. It is just one of those things and you have to get on with it. “
