Crewe Alexandra are hopeful that Perry Ng’s ankle injury is not too serious and that he will be back in contention for a place soon enough. Ng has been in for treatment today on the slight injury and he will be continued to be monitored and assessed ahead of the weekend trip to Lincoln City.
The 22-year-old was a late withdrawal from the starting line-up against Swindon Town last night after he failed a late fitness test. The Liverpool-born defender, who had been an ever-present for us this season rolled his ankle in Monday’s final training session – but he was able to play on.
Veteran defender Nicky Hunt replaced Ng at centre-half and helped Crewe to a 1-0 win over the Robins. Hunt was one of the star performers in what was out first win in four league matches.
