David Artell says he does not envisage any stumbling blocks in his negotiations with Perry Ng and his agent over a new contract. The Alex boss says that talks with Ng’s representative are continuing and he remains optimistic that the versatile defender will agree to remain at Crewe Alexandra beyond this year.
If Ng, 22, was not to sign, Crewe Alexandra would be a due a compensation payment for the Academy graduate due to his age.
The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “Talks are on-going with Perry and his agent. I am speaking with his agent again next week and we keep going. I don’t think people appreciate how long these things take to thrash out a deal but I don’t envisage any stumbling blocks.
“I respect Perry’s agent and have a lot of time for him. He is a good guy and I am sure we will get there in the end.
“Perry’s agent’s boss need some reassurances and I will speak with him next week and go from there.”
