David Artell says he is hopeful of seeing signs of consistency in his Crewe Alexandra side. The Alex go into tonight’s re-arranged fixture against Mansfield Town on the back of a four-game unbeaten run.
David Flitcroft’s Stags have only lost once this season and arrive in South Cheshire on an unbeaten run of seven league games.
It is well poised with both sides aiming to take advantage of the game in hand after the original game was postponed due to Mansfield Town having three players away on International duty back in September.
Artell told crewealex.net: “We ended the season third in the form table and we showed some real consistency. Hopefully we can get back to that but it is still only four games.
“We have to make sure that we draw games when we are losing and turn some of those draws into wins. Mansfield will be thinking something similar because they have drawn a large number of their games this season.
“We have shown some real consistent form at home. We have only conceded two goals and we have to make sure that continues. We probably haven’t got all we have deserved away from home because we have played well in a number of away games and got nothing to show for it.
The boss added: “Our home form has been good and we have picked up away, so we have to make sure that those consistent levels continue. We have to walk before we can run and this is just a start for us. We have to make sure we get over the line in games. There is no point it being nip and tuck and then losing 1-0. “
