Corey Targets More Home Points After Away Success

25 October 2018

Corey Whelan says it is important that Crewe Alexandra build on their recent away return of four points from two games with more of the same at home against Grimsby Town and Mansfield Town in a short space of time.

Crewe collected four points on their travels to Stevenage and Yeovil and Whelan is not alone in thinking it should have been maximum points as was our second half dominance at Huish Park on Tuesday evening.

The on-loan Liverpool defender is pleased that the team have recorded their first away win of the season and he feels that the recent upturn in results could be a real turning point in our season.

Corey told the club’s official website after the 1-1 draw at Yeovil: "It's definitely coming together. We know what we can do at home, we play very well when we are at home, but the question mark has been around our away form.

"Now we've played two away games on the bounce and come away with four points.

"It helps us kick on. We know if our away form is as good as our home form we'll definitely be up there competing at the top of the league.

"Now we can look forward to two home games and hopefully we can get all six points out of them.

"We know in the space of two games the league can completely change and we couldn't ask for a better time for two home games to come, because we are in good form."
