David Artell says he is just pleased to have a secured a home draw in the first round of the FA Cup. The Alex were drawn against fellow League two side Carlisle United in Monday’s draw and Artell says it is a fixture to look forward to on Saturday 10th November at the Alexandra Stadium.
The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “All you can ask for really is a home draw and we managed to get one. It is one we will think about nearer the time, but I would say it is better than last year when we got Rotherham United who were right up and then Blackburn Rovers, who got promoted to the Championship as well!
He added: “The key is to make sure you get in the hat and we know about Carlisle. We have played them already this season and as I’ve said we deserved more than we got there. We played well on the day but ended up losing 1-0.”
