David Artell says he will have plenty of options to cover for the temporary loss of full-back Corey Whelan this weekend. The on-loan Liverpool youngster is away on International duty with Republic of Ireland Under-21s against Israel and Germany and will miss the visit of Bury.
Artell though says he can over the absence as has options at the back with Nicky Hunt, Michael Raynes, Harry Pickering all available. Ryan Wintle also has the versatility to play right-back if needs be, as does Perry Ng.
David told us: “We will be without Corey as he is away on International duty. He has settled in well and he has done fine for us but that’s football.
“Him not being here, gives someone else an opportunity. I have options there.
"Hunty was brilliant against Swindon. I have to say, equally so, Perry was excellent and probably the best player on the pitch against Lincoln.
“The first thing Danny Cowley (Lincoln boss) said was ‘I like that Perry Ng’ when I shook his hand at the end.
"We know in Nicky Hunt we’ve got a player that’s adept at coming in and doing a job, if that’s the way we go."
