Boss Delight In Bowery Finish

22 October 2018

David Artell says it is great to see Jordan Bowery on the score-sheet again with his goal of the day at Stevenage. Bowery produced a stunning goal of the season contender by bending a shot into the top corner with the outside of his foot to win the game at the Lamex Stadium and the gaffer was delighted for him.

David told the club’s official website: “It was great to see Jordan score, it just keeps him ticking along nicely. I thought he and Shaun (Miller) were terrific for us. It was a great goal to win us the game.

“Considering it was Shaun’s first full game for a while, I thought he was terrific, really good with his movement.

“He helped impact the game early on by running in behind Ben (Nugent) and that led to the red card. That wasn’t luck, that was clever movement.

“They played well together and then I could bring Chris Porter on when Jordan had that slight injury. It doesn’t weaken us. The bench was strong. We were looking for a goal so Jonah comes on and the first thing he does is set the goal up.

“We then bring Hunty on for Kev O’Connor and again that doesn’t weaken us because of his experience and his ability in the air.”
