Artell: "We Are Putting Extra Pressure On Ourselves To Win At Home"

8 October 2018

David Artell says that our disappointing away form is beginning to apply increasing pressure on us to get points at home.

The Alex have not won any of our six away games and have taken just one point from a goalless draw at Cheltenham Town.

Crewe lost 1-0 at Lincoln City at the weekend but our home form has been promotion winning form with just one defeat and one goal conceded.

Following the 1-0 defeat to Lincoln, Artell told us: "We are putting all sorts of pressure on ourselves to win at home. Ifs and buts don't get you points, you have to make it happen.

“Artell said: "We can stand here and say yeah, we deserved something from the game, but we’ve said that for three out of the five or six away games we’ve had.

“Are we really breaking our neck to score a goal? That's the truth, let's not dress it up.

"It's easy for me to say there was nothing between the two teams, they are not streets ahead of us.

"We have to be more ruthless in the final third. We got into great positions but petered out.

He added: "We are working on it and continue to work on it. But it's got to happen.”
