David Artell felt that his Crewe Alexandra side didn’t get the win his side deserved in Somerset this evening.
Crewe couldn’t quite make our second half domination count with a second goal to claim all three points, but the boss was delighted with the overall performance.
Following the 1-1 draw at Huish Park, Artell told the club’s official website: “The performance was terrific and we deserved the three points. I am just pleased that the fans who have travelled down here have been able to see that.
“We were like Bury were to us a couple of weeks ago. We just couldn’t find that second goal and make our domination in the second half count. We got in behind them so many times and we just needed to make better decisions right at the end.
“It was like we wined and dined Miss World but didn’t quite get down to the business at the end of the night.
“Sometimes a draw stings and it can feel like a defeat. The lads are devastated in there and that is a great feeling to have. When you have that feeling in your stomach then we are going in the right direction.
“We played some great football and some of the opportunities we created were like Arsenal last night. I know people will think I am crazy comparing our football to Arsenal but we put some great moves together.
"I know people were talking about Jordan’s goal at Stevenage being a goal of the season but hands down if he tapped that one at the end of the first half then that would have been. The football we played for that move was terrific for League Two.
“That is three unbeaten now and we have two home games to roll into. It can all change very quickly and there were a lot of positives to take from the performance. It is little acorns and all that but I am pleased that they are annoyed that we haven’t won. It shows we are on the right track.”
