Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell says that last season’s 4-1 at Lincoln City can provide a boost to his squad.

The Alex boss says that the result and performance at Sincil Bank back in February demonstrates that his team can produce at the home of the current league leaders, but it is now confined to history.

Ahead of the trip to Sincil Bank, the Crewe boss said: “We had a terrific result at Lincoln last season and not many people expected us to do that. I will mention it briefly because it serves as an example but history is history and it is a new game on Saturday.

“You are only as good as your next game. We won the game on Tuesday against Swindon but that doesn’t mean that it will happen automatically on Saturday. It doesn’t work like that and you have to work your socks off for everything you get because they are all tough games in this league. “
