Artell: "Definitely More To Come From This Team"

29 October 2018

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says there is definitely a lot more to come from his side.

Crewe go into tomorrow night’s home match against Mansfield Town on the back of a four-game unbeaten run but Artell believes that his side have not hit their potential yet. A test against a Stags side that have only lost once this season but drawn a further 9 of their matches, will be a good marker to where we are. David Flitcroft’s side are expected to be challenge for at least a play-off spot this season.

Artell told crewealex.net: “There is more to come from this team, most definitely.

“We weren’t at our best on Saturday but I felt we deserved to win the game. It was a routine type of win in the end after a couple of scares towards the end of the first half. Those chances were our own doing.

“We were terrific at Yeovil but we didn’t win the game and managed to score only one goal. If we play that type of football and score four and five and do that regularly for six games on the spin then I would say we were somewhere like.

He added: “We are not doing that so there is a lot of work to do. There is room for improvement and we want to improve. It’s been better in the last four matches but not to the level we want to be.”
