U18 Report & Goals: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Crewe

8 November 2018

Crewe: Booth, Adebisi (c) (Linton, 45), Goodrich, Odipe, Fenton, Hartshorn, Djalo, Robbins, Stubbs, Onyeka, Levey (Lokko, 60)

Crewe Alexandra Under 18s were subjected to a third straight defeat in the Professional Development League 2 with a 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

Having to field two Under 16s in the starting XI due to injury, the 18s put in a strong performance but Forest put together a strong performance to see off Bell's boys.

Perhaps with one eye on Friday's FA Youth Cup second round match at Salford City, the Alex fell behind in the first half when the lively Ethan Dekel-Daks surged into the box & curled an effort with the outside of his boot into the far corner.

The hosts were largely on top, but Crewe did well to keep them at bay until the 64 minute mark when Elliott Andrew picked up the ball 22-yards out after a fast Forest counter & lashed it into the corner.

Crewe pressed for a route back into the game, but blocks from the Forest back-line kept their clean sheet intact.
