Ng: "I Want To Improve As A Centre-Half"

8 November 2018

On signing his new three-year deal with the Football Club, Perry Ng has said that he wished to remain at Crewe Alexandra because he is still learning the trade as a centre-half.

Ng quickly ended speculation about his future by agreeing a new deal before Christmas and now the Liverpool-born defender says he wants to develop further in a central position.

Ng told iFollow the Alex: “I am still relatively young as a centre-half and I am still learning the position. It is tough at times but I think I am improving all the time.

“I have always said that I will play anywhere on the pitch as long as I am playing but I prefer to be at centre-half than at right-back or in midfield but I don’t mind. I think I can play in any position.

“I want to improve as a centre-half. I want to improve my physicality and win more headers in both boxes. I am looking to become more of a threat from set-pieces and that is what I will be working on in training.

“It is all about taking that work into the game situation and I know I have to play well because there are a lot of good defenders in the squad now.”
