Gaffer pays tribute to club historian after he sadly passed away earlier this week.
David Artell has described the passing of club historian, Harold Finch, as an extremely sad day for the Football Club. Harold passed away at the age of 91 earlier in the week after a brave battle against illness.
Harold served the club in many roles for over 65 years and was made an honorary life president by the Football Club for his incredible service.
The Crewe Alexandra boss told the club’s official website: “It was a sad day for the Football Club because he was a really terrific guy Harold.
“His knowledge was second to none and what he has seen over many, many years, you could write many books. He will be a big loss around the club because people like that radiate love for their football clubs. Clubs rely on people like that to spread good will about Crewe Alexandra. It was all heartfelt and he was a great ambassador of our club.
“I am sure wherever he is, Harold would have stopped off in Iceland because he loved going there. “
