Boss: "Perry Has Great Potential To Play A Lot Higher"

9 November 2018

David Artell fully expects Perry Ng to go on and play at a much higher level in his career. The Alex boss was delighted that the talented and versatile defender agreed a new three-year contract last week and the Crewe boss says he has high hopes for the former Academy graduate.

Ng has been with the club since the age of six and he has now progressed into a regular first-team player, capable of playing in numerous different positions. Ng, 22, has already amassed 87 appearances in all competitions at first-team level and has notched some outstanding goals as well. He is surprisingly due a goal this season.

Artell told crewealex.net: “Perry is a top, top player. I cannot speak highly enough of him. He is a great pro. He is a winner first and foremost and has a great inner drive. I believe his ability and character will take him a lot higher in the game. I expect him to move on in the future and have a really good career.

“His agent is a good guy. He is an intelligent guy and I am glad it was all sorted out. Perry from the offset always said he wanted to stay here and develop. He didn’t want to leave and we know how much he enjoys playing for this football club.

“Signing a new contract won’t affect him. As I’ve already alluded to, his mentality is terrific. He will continue to develop here and when he is ready he will move on. I have high hopes for him.”
