David Artell has told the club’s official website that he is pleased that Brad Walker is enjoying his football again on loan at Wrexham and he hopes that the former Hartlepool United man will return to Crewe in January with renewed confidence.
Walker has impressed at the Racecourse Ground, playing as a holding midfield player and he recently stated that spending time out on loan and playing regularly has reignited his love for the game.
Artell says he is pleased to see Walker doing so well in North Wales. He said: “I haven’t been able to go over the see him yet because every time we have a Tuesday night game, they seem to be playing as well. I will get over there when I can.
“We have good dialogue with Wrexham and the staff there and they keep us updated on his progress. I am pleased he is playing and enjoying it, that was the aim of the loan move in the first place.
“His agent is very good as well. He is a clever man and he knows the game, so that helps as well.
“I read that Brad had said that he had lost his love of football last season and he told us one or two things in the interview he did, but that’s fine. I cannot control his feelings and if that is how he felt then I am fine with it.
“There was no indication from him when he was here and that only suggests to me that we were right to put him out on loan. It was the right decision.
“If he enjoys it, plays game and has got his drive back then that is great because he is our player and hopefully when he comes back he still has that fire in his belly and he can fight for his place.
David added: “It is still only November, so there is still time to decide on what we want to in the New Year but I am pleased he is enjoying his football and doing well.”
