Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell says he has no problem meeting a section of supporters as long as they are sensible. Artell is set to do just that ahead of this weekend’s home game against Tranmere Rovers and he is looking forward to a straight talking conversation.
The Alex boss has always been open and honest with supporters at club’s forums and says that he will he will continue to ‘work his socks’ off to turn our fortunes around.
David told the club’s official website: “If people want to give me flak or stick or whatever that is up to them. If that is what they want to do then I’m not complaining. I don’t want people to think that I am moaning or cannot take the flak. I’ve had it my whole career.
"I wasn't a very good player and I got flak most weeks so I'm used to it!
"I don't really commit stuff to memory, you can't. If you did, you'd end up in a dark room. It just washes over you.
"I can hold my head up high knowing I'm working my socks off, and all the staff and the players are working their socks off. But we all have to be a bit better, and I'll take the flak that's the nature of the job.
"I always welcome fans' forums and question-and-answer sessions because I'm an honest guy and I've nothing to hide.
"As long as they are sensible and ask pertinent questions. If they have good ideas and think their wisdom is that important they need to tell us, come and tell us!
The Alex boss said: "We're all in it together, we all want the same thing."
