Terrific Achievement For Ainley To Reach 100 Games

4 May 2018

David Artell says that it will be an excellent achievement for Callum Ainley to reach the milestone of 100 career appearances at the age of 20…of course that will depend if he is selected to face Cheltenham Town this weekend!

Ainley penned a new three-year-deal yesterday and Artell was quick to highlight the rapidness of his progress at first-team level.

Talking to the club’s official website Artell said: “To play 100 games at that age is an excellent achievement if that comes tomorrow or on the first game of next season.

“My proudest achievement in football are not the promotions or that I played International football, but the number of games I played during my career. It meant I trained most days, didn’t get too many injuries and that my manager’s liked me in their team.

“To play 100 games before the age of 21, is a terrific achievement and all three of the young lads, who have recently signed their contracts this week all have a big future in the game.”
