Team Spirit Is Worth 15+ Points Before You Start

24 May 2018

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell feels that the team spirit inside the club should be worth 15/20 points. Artell says that he is forming the right blend of experience and youth to approach League Two in an optimistic frame of mind next season. Crewe finished 15th last season after ending the season with six wins from the last nine games.

Artell says that the harmony inside the camp will certainly help us in times of adversity over a long campaign.

The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: “Team spirit is worth 15/20 points a season. There is no doubt about that. I’ve been in good dressing rooms and ones where there have been problems. I’ve experienced both and the spirit is good here. The lads get on well.

“You don’t come back from 2-0 down away at Stevenage with ten minutes left if it isn’t there. You just don’t. Everyone saw what it meant to everyone that day.

He added: “There is work to do but the team spirit gives us a good base to work from. We will do some team bonding exercises. We will keep working on that and creating the belief. It is good to do things as a group and I’m sure the players enjoy doing something slightly different as well.
