Crewe Alexandra’s newest recruit says that the club’s younger players’ agreeing to sign their new contracts has given everyone a lift heading into the closed season.
Shaun Miller, 30, signed a two-year deal with the Railwaymen last week following a successful loan spell from Carlisle United and now the local lad is targeting a far better season next time around.
Miller, who scored six important goals on his return to the Alexandra Stadium told the club’s official website: “It was pleasing to see the other lads sign and having the three young lads and Paul Green sign was a big play for everyone.
“It was great to see that everyone stayed really and that the nucleus of the team is staying together. We played some really good stuff in the last few months of the season and we have ended the season on a really good run of results.
“We were in the top four or five in the form table, so we want to be taking that into next season and kick on.
Shaun added: “If we can be more consistent in the middle of the season then we could have a good go at it. I think we have the squad do to really well but it is all about being consistent.”
