Crewe Alexandra will re-create history against Cheltenham Town this weekend by naming a starting XI consisting of homegrown players.
Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell will name his team from those that have come through the Academy system at the Football Club. There will be no debutants in the starting line-up.
The Football Club previously achieved the feat on the final day of the 2012/13 season when we defeated Walsall 2-0 at the Alexandra Stadium thanks to goals from Luke Murphy from the penalty spot and from substitute Chuks Aneke.
Current players, Ben Garratt (who was making his debut for the club) and George Ray are the only two survivors from that historic encounter against The Saddlers.
