Crewe Alexandra academy graduate James Jones has signed a new two-year contract with the Football Club.

The 22-year-old's previous deal was due to expire this summer, but he's penned fresh terms to commit to the Alex until summer 2020.

Jones has made 113 first team appearances for the Crewe since breaking into the side in the 2014/15 campaign, notching 13 goals.

Despite enduring a frustrating season due to an injury picked up last summer, Jonah has recovered in time to make five appearances in recent weeks that will stand him in good stead ahead of the upcoming pre-season schedule.

He enjoyed a terrific 2016/17 campaign, scoring 11 goals in 50 appearances in all competitions, having previously made 32 outings in 2015/16.
