Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says he will take a short break at some stage this summer but he won’t be taking a time out just yet as he continues his summer planning.
The Alex boss has stated this week that his early business has gone well. He has already tied down those players he has wanted to keep this summer and he is after one or two new faces in readiness for pre-season at the end of June.
The busy Crewe boss told us: “There are always things going on. I woke up the other night thinking about an email that I should have sent to an agent and hadn’t done it. That can happen. You have your family time but most of the time you are thinking about the next thing for the Football Club. That’s the job and it is difficult to distract yourself because there is always something.
“It can affect your sleep but I will get a break with the family. You have to get that physical and mental rest in because it is a long 10 months when the season is on.
He added: “You are always thinking what next, what next and I’m sure we will tick along nicely this summer. If we can do a bit more business, that I would like to do, over the next couple of weeks then that would put us in a strong position.”
