David Artell has challenged his newest recruit Shaun Miller to target scoring 20 plus goals next season. The Crewe Alexandra boss is delighted to have added the 30-year-old striker to his squad and he believes that our former Academy graduate can become our main man for goals this coming season.
Miller, who scored six goals during a successful loan spell in the second half of last season, has signed a two-year-deal with his local club.
David told the club’s official website: “Shaun didn’t want to speak to anyone else am I grateful that he has decided to come back. He really wanted to be here and it can be risky for a player to put his eggs in one basket and be adamant that he wants to be a certain club. Shaun has done that here.
“I know he enjoyed his time here and I hope that having played with Shaun and knowing him that he knew he could trust what I was telling him.
“He has come through and has put his signature on the contact. I contacted him when he had completed it to wish him well and say well done and then told him to get his head around scoring 20+ goals for us next season.
“That’s the plan and the challenge for him. We are on the same hymn sheet or mobile phone as it is now in the modern era and that is important. I think it is a realistic and obtainable target for someone like Shaun.”
