Crewe Alexandra has today confirmed that midfielder Oliver Finney and young goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen have signed new contacts with the Football Club.
They become the latest of our young players to commit their futures to Crewe Alexandra after James Jones, Charlie Kirk and Callum Ainley did so likewise only last week.
The Crewe Alexandra boss, David Artell, is eager to tie up members of his squad on longer contracts to protect the club’s long term investment.
On signing his latest two, Artell told crewealex.net: “Ollie has signed a new deal and he will be here next season. He knows he has some work to do to break into the first team picture on a regular basis but he has a chance.
“Will is still only 19 and he has a bright future in the game that lad. He is a bit different because of his position and the fact that there is only one place up for grabs, but he has had an excellent season.
“We let him go out for the experience and he has played almost 40 games in someone’s first-team, so that only assists his development. Next season, we will look at it again and I’m sure he will play at a level higher than he has been. He is taking it a step at a time but he is a great young talent.”
