David Artell has told the club’s official website that he would like to get his ‘ducks in order’ as quickly as he possibly can.
The Alex boss is still working hard to try and conduct some more business before he embarks on a family holiday and he would like to complete much of his dealings before pre-season starts again in June.
David told crewealex.net: “I want to make sure that our ducks are in order as much as we can. There is still work to be done and we are still working on things behind the scenes. I would like to do some more bits and bobs and try to get ahead of other clubs.
“If other clubs come in for the same player then we are knackered, it is as simple as that because we will struggle to match them financially. I would like to get ahead of that curve and get in what we need.
“I know there will be some who will say wait and see what happens. There may be a few surprises late on as players get more desperate in July and August but I would rather have quality and someone who wants to be here more than desperate.
“If the odd one becomes available late on and we are not in a position to do something because all our ducks are in place, then so be it. We have planned well and have managed to sign up the ones we want from our own squad. That is a great bit of business already.”
