David Artell has admitted that last season was a long, hard slog at times but the Crewe Alexandra boss feels that the club has now bottomed out and he expects a much improved season next time out.
The Crewe boss told crewealex.net: “It has been a season of two halves in one respect. We had to make some improvements in January and we have ended the season with us about 4th or 5th in the form table.
“It has been a long, hard slog at times and it was difficult at times but we always thought we had the players here to make sure we were never in serious trouble.
“I think we have been able to turn the corner now and it has bottomed out. We will try and get more right people into the club in the summer and if we can do that then we can do pretty well.
“We have to make sure that what we have been able to achieve over the last few months continues when we get back.”
