Artell: "I Don't Have To Offload Players To Balance The Budget"

26 May 2018

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell has stressed that he does not have to offload players to bring more players in this summer. The Alex boss is targeting at least another two new recruits after already confirming the permanent signings of Paul Green and Shaun Miller at the close of the season.

The club have also placed their faith in their own young players with the likes of Harry Pickering, Charlie Kirk, Callum Ainley, James Jones and Lewis Reilly all agreeing new terms this summer.

Artell told crewealex.net: “We have invested in our own players to a certain extent but they have deserved it. Now the challenge for them is to kick on again next season and become even more consistent.

“I don’t have to move players out to get the two or three we need. I am not under any pressure to do that nor do I want to do that. We will be fine with the budget, if we can get the players in we want. “
