Although the Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell has labelled this weekend’s home game against Coventry City as the ‘toughest of the season’ he knows that his own side are in his words ‘in a good place’ at the moment.
Crewe have collected four points on their travels at Lincoln and Stevenage and the boss is hoping we can take our encouraging form into what will be a tough test against the Sky Blues.
Artell told crewealex.net: “We will have to match Coventry’s work rate and be better than our opposite opponent. It will be a tough ask but we are in a good place at the moment.
“We have played well over the last five, six weeks and haven’t got the points tally we have deserved after what happened against Yeovil, Exeter and Accrington when we were on top and the better side.
“I’m sure Mark (Robins) will be wary of us. He will know that we play a different way to most teams in this division and he will know that we have players who can hurt them. We are different and we have the belief and confidence that we have the players, who can cause problems as well.
“I know we have been threatening to go on a little run for a while. I have been saying that we are good enough for a while, but now we have got to prove it. We have to show that we can compete against one of the best teams in this league.
“We want to end the season well and perform as well as we have been doing in recent weeks. We do take it each game as it comes and we will always go out and try to claim the three points.”
