Lee Bell's Under-18s side ran out deserving 4-1 winners over Huddersfield Town at the club's training complex this afternoon.
The Crewe youngsters took the lead following a Joe Lynch free-kick that caused mayhem inside the Terriers box. Luke Offord appeared to get a decisive touch on it but defender Matthew Fenton made absolutely certain by tapping over on the line.
Huddersfield hit back before the half-time interval but Crewe took full control in the second half to score a further three goals to seal the points.
A throughball from Luke Walsh allowed Aaron Lomas to run through and although he was tracked by a Huddersfield defender, he still found the bottom corner with a tidy finish on the run.
Another free-kick from Lynch was on target and after the Hudderfield goalkeeper couldn't collect, there was his midfield partner Regan Griffiths to lift the rebound into the top of the net for 3-1.
Lynch completed the scoring himself with a smart header after he had ghosted unchecked into the box to meet a Lomas cross.
