Crewe Alexandra have been handed a boost with the news that striker Chris Porter will commence running again this week.
Porter, who tops the club’s goalscoring charts with 12 goals this season, successfully underwent an operation on a troublesome ankle to clean up some wear and tear back in January.
The 34-year-old has not featured since 20th January when he hobbled off at home to Wycombe Wanderers.
Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Stevenage also saw the return of Chris Dagnall from his knee injury. Dagnall replaced Jordan Bowery in the 78th minute.
