Crewe Alexandra have been handed another fitness boost with the news that Chris Porter has successfully returned to training following his ankle operation.
The experienced striker, who has hit 12 goals during his debut season at Gresty Road, had surgery back in January to clean up some wear and tear in his ankle.
The former Sheffield United, Motherwell and Derby County forward is now fit enough to resume training and may get some time game against Nottingham Forest in our Under-23 fixture tomorrow.
Porter, 34, has scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for the Railwaymen, but he hasn’t featured since being forced off against Wycombe Wanderers back on 20th January.
Crewe Alexandra have recently been able to welcome back George Ray, Chris Dagnall, James Jones and Ryan Wintle back from injury to bolster David Artell’s squad options for the run-in.
