David Artell is delighted with the rapid progress being made by Academy youngster Harry Pickering. The 19-year-old’s versatility to play in various positions in defence and midfield has already seen him amass 33 first-team appearances and the Crewe Alexandra boss is thrilled that our latest graduate is holding down a place in his team.
Artell told crewealex.net: “Harry is developing nicely. He is bubbling along and has great potential. To be able to go into the first-team and be able to play in various positions is a great facet to have.
“He has been terrific for us regardless of where he is asked to play for the team.
“Forest Green brought Bray on at half-time and he is quick and direct but I cannot remember him putting over too many crosses. He ran across the pitch a couple of times but he didn’t really combine with the strikers, so that is a great credit to Harry.
The boss added: “He played him really well and kept one of their main threats quiet, so that is another feather in his cap. “
