Ng's Technique Is Credit To His Coaching

13 March 2018

David Artell says that Perry Ng’s wonderful strike against Stevenage last weekend is testimony to the work he has received coming through our Academy system.

Ng cut in from touchline with quick feet before unleashing an unstoppable shot with his ‘weaker’ left foot. It is most certainly going to be a contender for the club’s goal of the season.

Artell was delighted to see his accurate drive arrow into the top corner and with 10 minutes left on the clock, it was the catalyst for a late comeback at the Lamex Stadium.

The Crewe boss told the club’s official website:  “I pick players on merit. If they have come through the Academy then that’s even better but they are in the team if they play well, it is as simple as that.

“When they come through the Academy here, we know we are getting very good technical players. I am not sure there are many players at this level, who have played right-back, centre-half and central midfield this season like Perry has at his age. He can do that because he is a very good footballer.

“Perry produced a trick to come off the wing and has then hit one from 25 yards with his weaker foot. That is credit to him and a credit to the coaches here. That isn’t luck, that is a lot of hard work out on the training ground.

“When you put all those hours in, then goals like that are as much for the coaches here. That is what we do, we produce good footballers. “
