David Artell knows that his players will have to stand up to Newport County’s physicality if we are to take anything from our trip to Rodney Parade.
The Railwaymen will be aiming to secure back-to-back wins after our convincing 3-1 win over Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday night.
The Crewe Alexandra boss is expecting a tough encounter against Michael Flynn’s side, who currently occupy 11th place in the EFL Two Table.
Artell told the club’s official website: “It will be another tough game. They are all tough in this league and them having rugby on the pitch the day before the game doesn’t help. Don’t think that is me putting an excuse in before the event because it won’t be an excuse.
“We will have to stand up to them, like we did at Lincoln and play well enough to get a result.
“Their set-pieces and long throw from Ben Tozer are a main part of their armoury and we have to stand up to that side of things. We want to play our football when we can and in the right areas.
“We have got to be better than our opposite number and if we can do that across the board then there is no reason at all why we cannot get a positive result.
